Sunday February 19th
We left this morning for a family holiday to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.. Lucas was totally fascinated at the airport and loved watching the bags on the conveyer belt as well as everything happening on the tarmac..
I know Brian was totally worried and always saying Lucas will be a nightmare on the plane, but instead, he was fantastic, even falling asleep half an hour before the plane landed..
Once we arrived, we collected our luggage and headed towards the rental car counter to collect our car - our ride for the next week was a Nissan X-Trail.. On the way over, the humidity just hits you like a brick wall.. It felt so uncomfortable and way hotter than the 32 degrees fore-casted.. Give me Adelaide's hot dry weather any day instead..
Anyway, we drove to my sister's place where we would be spending the next few nights.. The kids were so happy to see us, especially Brian, who is their favourite uncle..
After a short break, we headed to Indooroopilly shopping centre to cool down a little and also to order a cake for Serena's birthday party.. How cute do all those cakes look??
Then we went off again - this time to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.. Lucas was totally buggered by this stage since he only had a short nap all day, so all attempts to wake him failed.. He was so cute though!
He did eventually wake up by the time we got to the monitor lizard enclosure, so we took him out to have a look around.. He enjoyed seeing and touching all the animals, including the sheep, kangaroo, and emu..

By the time we arrived home, we were all starving, so had a wonderful steam boat dinner on the balcony.. It was much cooler outside with the breeze and the kids loved riding their scooters out there also..
